
Further Grants to Support the Christchurch Community in the Summer and Autumn of 2024
We were pleased to be able to make a further fifteen grants totaling £43,445 in the Summer and Autumn of 2024 to support the community in the Christchurch area:
- A grant of £4,364 to the FRIENDS OF TWYNHAM SCHOOL for a project to transform the underused central courtyard by refurbishing it with planting and furniture to provide a soothing area for the pupils
- A grant of £1,000 to the CHRISTCHURCH TOWN COUNCIL to enable them to provide a free community event and a beacon to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day on the 24th June 2024
- A grant of £4,200 to MOSAIC – SUPPORTING BEREAVED CHILDREN to fund counselling for 12 children/young people in the Christchurch area who have been affected by bereavement
- A grant of £5,000 to the CHRISTCHURCH DISTRICT SCOUT COUNCIL towards the costs of running of the planned Christchurch Scout and Guide Gang Show to be held in the Christchurch Regent Centre in February 2025
- A grant of £3,470 to SOMERFORD PRIMARY SCHOOL to equip a Forest School for their pupils and to contribute towards the cost of a licensed practitioner
- A grant of £2,500 to BCHA (BOURNEMOUTH CHURCH HOUSING ASSOCIATION) to assist ten disadvantaged young people in supported housing accommodation in Christchurch with emergency, communal and personal funding
- A grant of £5,000 to CHRISTCHURCH MAGDALEN TRUST to continue to support their Hardship Scheme which makes cash funds available to the Christchurch Foodbank + and other local charities to assist individuals with hardship emergencies
- A grant of £1,000 to HELPFUL HOUNDS ASSISTANCE DOGS to assist with the costs of providing an assistance dog to a Christchurch School with children with special educational needs.
- A grant of £3,000 to CHRISTCHURCH TOWN COUNCIL towards the costs of running a community festival alongside the Christmas lights switch-on event
- A grant of £2,500 to AUTISM UNLIMITED towards the costs of upgrading the AV equipment for the school hall in Christchurch to enhance its use for its pupils
- A grant of £3,411 to HONEYPOT CHILDREN’S SOCIETY to provide seven young carers from the Christchurch area with residential respite breaks and other support.
- A grant of £5,000 to HOME-START WESSEX to fund the provision of one-to-one support to five disadvantaged families with young children who live in the Christchurch area
- We were again pleased to support the CHRISTCHURCH LIVING ADVENT CALENDAR, run by Christchurch Rotary, by supporting three of the events and making three grants:
- £1,000 to Druitt Hall Community Association
- £1,000 to the Isabel Baker Foundation
- £1,000 to the Christchurch Support Kabin
